a blue cushioned chair, frozen in time.
Atop my bureau, I know she has not gone
She is always sitting there in her prime.
My ballerina ties tiny pink point shoes
as she gets ready for a performance.
It won’t reach her; she will not hear the news.
She will continue sitting, never to dance.
Her lace trimmed tutu cascades over the cushion,
an elegant bodice with pink flowers
head tilted slightly, a bun atop tied with ribbon.
Time passes, although I could watch for hours.
Oblivious to life’s course, she changes
possession through death, never thinking it strange.

As far as emotional, I felt some sadness, like a touch of sadness in the story. Otherwise I kind of liked it, I'm not much of a poetry person though. Oh yeah and the couplet doesn't rhyme, but i found it pleasant to read
