How I can transfer E. Coli in a petri dish with water?
I know this question is a bit strange. I'm working on a plan to kill E. Coli in water with ozone. I have grown E. Coli and produced the ozone layer, but I need a way to put bacteria live in water. It is important that the E. coli is alive so you can find if the water treatment works my device. I tried other resources, but have not found anything and I have only until the end if the semester to complete the project.
This is how we transferred bacteria in fluids for laboratory microbiology (E. coli is often used): – You must use a technique Aseptic (look it up if you do not know what it is) – test tubes were used (which contain the water, obviously) and inoculating loops (you can replace this with something similar) and Bunsen burners (if you do not have access to these need some other source of heat / fire) ** ** Use aseptic technique Spend loop through the flame on several occasions. Use your inoculating loop (or a substitute for the tool) and collect bacteria. Carefully transfer the bacteria in the water (inside the tube test). You can do this a couple of times, depending on how much you want bacteria in the water. Go through the loop to sterilize it called again. You can do this if the bacteria culture agar or in liquid. If it is liquid you need to do this a few times, agar usually only be done once. Be sure to do all this using aseptic technique to prevent contamination and spread of bacteria which can not be.
