Local residents sell collectibles treasure hunters Roadshow
Kathy Schweer is not considered an expert in the sale of collectibles.
But on Wednesday he was trying to sell several items under the Treasure Hunters Roadshow at the Super 8 in Cape Girardeau.

Since 1996, the Roadshow has visited treasure hunters more than 600 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada. At each event, local residents bring their antiques and collectibles to learn to associate estimated its value. If the seller agrees to sell the item to partners, the item is then sent to private collectors or corporate office in Athens, Illinois
"Our goal is for people to come out with a check," said fair manager Doug Feese. "With him being so close to Christmas, we expect to see a lot people and a lot of money in the local economy. "
During the opening day of the series Tuesday, Feese and his team saw four of Athens about 60 customers. The potential sellers brought gold, jewelry, silver coins dated before 1965, military swords and a Gibson 1957. The guitar sold for $ 17,000.
Feese said his company is looking to buy collectables age. These include various types of coins, bills printed before 1934, coins gold investment gold, gold scrap, jewelry, platinum, silver, war, guns, trains, toys, posters and other items older.

The Treasure Hunters Roadshow continues through Saturday. Hours are 9-6 days today and Friday and 9.4 on Saturday.
