The story of the lamp
The origins of the first light goes back to 70,000 BC. The first lamps were of course very primitive men of the caves used to burn animal fat and then put it in a hollow rock to illuminate the darkness. Later in history, the Greeks developed the lamp using Terracotta as an element to keep the flame, but instead of animal fats Greeks began to use wicks which gave them more control over the flame.
As time passed they found other fuels such as olive oil, beeswax, fish oil, other oils and the like. Then gas in 1800 to become more common in places, the invention of the kerosene lamp was born in Germany. In the 1900s arrived, gas lamps were invented. The introduction of street lamps were common in all major American and European cities. The evolution of low-pressure sodium continuous illumination of high-pressure mercury introduced in the market. Then cam the modern day incandescent lamp.
Modern Lamp
The greatest invention was the electric light, and thanks to the invention of the incandescent light bulb Thomas Edison, who eventually replaced gas as primary energy source for the lights. Since late 1800 there have been many types of electric lamps, such as neon lights and fluorescent lamps which are very popular for both commercial and home use. Another type of light is the sodium vapor tube, which is usually used for street lighting and other large areas scales such as mall parking lots. As the bulbs improved so did the style and design of lamps.
Lamps are not made for exclusively for public lighting, obviously, is huge and residential lighting inside outdoors. interior lamps can come in a number of types of floor lamps, desk lamps and more. Lighting has become the style as much as it comes to lighting your home.
Some of the most popular styles, Tiffany, contemporary, rustic, Victorian and tropical. Basically there is a style for any type of interior design ideas you may have. The most important thing to do when choosing a lamp for your home is to consider the amount of light you need and the style to be easy after all from there on in.
